Description

The course introduces students to the role of the professional nurse in today's changing health care environment, focusing on concepts of health promotion, maintenance, and restoration. The student is introduced to the concepts of critical thinking, communication, and caring. The research process is also introduced. In addition, the student identifies current nursing issues and begin values clarification. Prerequisites: BI 214, 215; CH 103, 104; NU 104; concurrent enrollment in NR 217.
