Description
The application of curriculum and leadership theories are reviewed and applied to the current trends in the content of the academic areas for early childhood, middle childhood, adolescent and young adult students. The current status of each subject area curriculum is identified. The delivery of effective curriculum involving the parents and the school community in improvement efforts is introduced, along with the role of the principal as curriculum leader and the leader of change. The use of technology is examined and applied to the appropriate levels of schooling. Program evaluation is examined. Candidates demonstrate the ability to make recommendations regarding the design, implementation, and evaluation of a curriculum that fully accommodates learners' diverse needs. There is a six hour field component included in this course.
This course is considered to be a part of the licensure program.
